My favorite holiday is New Year's, because I can feel a japan traditional. Most of home prepare New Year's dishes and japan rice cake. That is said "Osechi and Mochi" in Japanese.
OsechiRice cake is eaten a lot by loved it one day. But I don't like. Even though I do not like rice cake, I love New Year's dishes. I like especially Datemaki in Japanese. It is made of eggs. It tastes sweet and soft. It is very nice. It looks like rolled omelet.
DatemakiPeople go to the shrine or temple in New Year's,because people wish that they can spend a new year with peace. It is very traditional.
I have to say, I'm not a big fan of mochi either...but the other foods eaten on New Year's Day are pretty good. The presentation is very elaborate.
